Why Where?
Hope for Every Home wants to pray for every single street, road and lane in the UK and reach every home with the good news about Jesus by the end of 2038. This doesn’t mean Christians door knocking (though I’m not knocking knocking). It means Christians taking spiritual responsibility for the places where we live and work, the places God has called us to as part of our everyday. Reaching every street and home won’t happen by accident. We need to be intentional about praying, caring and sharing our faith in our everyday.
At Hope for Every Home, we invite you to walk and pray. Prayer walking can help us connect with our communities and notice what God is doing. In Exodus 3:3 Moses ‘turned aside and noticed’ the burning bush. Let’s be people who take time in our everyday to turn aside from the busyness and notice what God is doing. You don’t even need to be physically present in a space to prayer walk it. Did you know you can prayer walk virtually? You can use street view on your computer maps programme or even your imagination. Our virtual prayerwalking guide below will give you more guidance.
The Local Houses of Prayer video below is a brilliant explanation of how God gives us his authority in our communities. We start with prayer because it means we practice the presence of God, but then we carry his presence into our communities, standing for him there, being a blessing and speaking blessing. We can talk to God anywhere, at any time about anything; but let’s be intentional about our where and pray for the street we live on and the community we live in.

With our friends at Cinnamon we are running a pilot project bringing together the OIKOS prayer app from Hope for Every Home and the Cinnamon Connect social action learning community which will allow local churches across the UK to map where prayer and mission have taken place in their local areas, and plan for future activity. As well as combining word and action, churches will also be able to access a range of tools, training and resources to serve their communities in practical ways.

Local Houses of Prayer is a movement or ordinary people who long to see God’s kingdom to come and His will to be done on their particular piece of earth as in heaven.
Typically commencing with only two or three people, LHOPs offer a framework to help us align our lives for greater blessing and impact for Jesus Christ right where we are. Participants adopt a small local area for Jesus, worship and pray for the manifest breaking in of the Kingdom of God, proclaim blessings and play their part in its release through their life and witness with the aid of the Caleb Questions:
Who is God putting in front of you? (Asking you to notice)
To whom can you show mercy?
With whom can you share the gospel?
What opportunity it God opening up for you to declare the good news of the Kingdom in your area?
Who could you encourage to join you?

A Mile with Jesus
How and why to prayer walk made simple!
A Mile With Jesus, from our partners Neighbourhood Prayer Network, is a helpful and comprehensive guide to prayer walking, whether you are an expert, or have never prayer walked before. This 36-page booklet covers the ‘Why?’ ‘What?’ and ‘How?’ of prayer walking as well as providing useful example prayers and scripture references. The vision of Neighbourhood Prayer Network is to pray for every street in the UK. The Prayer Walk 21 vision is also for every street across the UK to be a prayed for street. HOPE Together, as part of the Hope for Every Home Prayer Walk 21 project, is delighted to support the reissue of this
valuable booklet to support this shared vision. We hope it will encourage Christians across the UK to pray for the streets/roads/lanes that form part of their every day.
Joining the Dots Prayer Network
Hope For Every Home is part of the Joining Dots Prayer Network which maps prayer for towns and cities across the UK. JDPN would love to see every street in every town and city prayed for by the end of 2025.
If you are involved in praying for a town/city/region and would like to know more
